Continuing Ed: Post Disaster Emergency Assessment: Greenville

Register and earn 6 HSW Hours
Learn how to conduct safety evaluations of buildings and other structures following earthquake, windstorm and flood incidents.  The course is based on the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) Safety Assessment Program (SAP) and includes coverage of the ATC-20 and ATC-45 field manuals.  The training teaches how to evaluate building damage conditions, assess overall risk from the damage, and identify those buildings that people can return to, while marking those that are unsafe or have restricted use.

The course is open to structural engineers, civil engineers and architects and is a prerequisite to join the volunteer inspector database to be maintained by the SEA, ASCE and AIA in conjunction with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Division of Emergency Management.  This program is approved by FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security.
