O.W.L.S. November 2016 Webinar- ON DEMAND: Acoustics in Open Concept Work Environments

November O.W.L.S. Topic: Acoustics in Open Concept Work Environments

November O.W.L.S. Sponsored By: Thorburn Associates

When do you want to hear what is being said and when do you want to have privacy? That is a challenge with Open Concept Work Environments. When is it time for collaboration or introspection? We will look at the trends of work place designs and how changes have impacted the acoustical privacy for workers.

At the end of the session participants will be able to

- Review the acoustical properties of wall construction

- Select beneficial finishes for Open Concept conditions

- Understand when sound masking will help and the limitations of turnkey systems

Designers are often led astray by new trends in materials for sound control. Materials such as cotton panels, sprays, ceiling tiles, felt, etc., can have different benefits or disadvantages based on a variety of uses and mountings. When you understand how to sift through the data, you can find those “too good to be true” Acoustical finishes.
